Please consider product images as part of the item’s description.

This remarkable lot consists of the necklace worn by Anna Zarling upon her marriage to Gustav Heckendorf on June 5, 1890, the invitation to the event, and their wedding portrait. The locket also includes individual pictures of the bride and groom inside. Both photographs show Anna wearing this stunning piece. A truly one-of-a-kind grouping!

  • Approximate weight of necklace: 66.1 grams
  • Approximate measurements of necklace: width of bookchain 9.9 mm; locket 45.4 x 27.1 mm (closed, including bale); chain length 20.5 inches
  • Approximate measurements of media: invitation 4.75 x 3.5 inches; wedding photo 5 x 7 inches
  • Comments: Invitation text and some of the handwritten notes are in German. These were all clearly cherished pieces through the generations, as they are in astoundingly good condition for their age! Locket and necklace clasps open and close smoothly, photos inside have a semi-matte finish with no major noticeable flaws. Metal may show minor natural patina and/or surface scratches due to wear. Invite has yellowed in spots and one corner is partially folded down. Couples’ portrait has a glossy finish and does not lay flat, also present some creasing and other imperfections typical of inferior photography methods.
  • Additional information: Circa late 1800s. Pre-owned. Selling as is, as shown, and as best described!

Please note: Coin shown in photos was used for sizing comparison and is not included with purchase.
